The short answer

Yes. Natural kratom is legal in Florida for adults 21 and over, including Jacksonville. Florida does ban high-concentration 7-OH products, and Sarasota County has its own local ban. Several other states ban kratom outright. Laws are changing fast, so this page shows the date we last checked.

Florida kratom law in plain English

Age 21+: Florida's Kratom Consumer Protection Act (Florida Statutes § 500.92, effective July 1, 2023) makes it illegal to sell kratom products to anyone under 21.

Labeling: Kratom products must be properly labeled, and they can't claim to treat or cure any disease. State rules also require retailers to list 7-OH content on packaging.

7-OH: Florida's Attorney General used emergency rules (first in August 2025, then expanded in 2026) to put high-concentration 7-OH and several related compounds on Florida's Schedule I list. Natural kratom leaf is not part of that ban. More in kratom vs 7-OH.

Is kratom legal in Jacksonville?

Yes. Duval County and the Beaches follow state law, so adults 21+ can buy natural kratom in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, San Marco and Mandarin. The only Florida county with a confirmed local kratom ban is Sarasota County.

What's happening at the federal level

Natural kratom is not federally scheduled. In 2025 the FDA recommended scheduling concentrated 7-OH, and in 2026 the DEA temporarily scheduled several related synthetic compounds and proposed rules for concentrated 7-OH products. Those changes target concentrated and synthetic products, not natural leaf.

States that ban kratom

As of October 2026, published state-by-state trackers list these states as banning kratom: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts (emergency order), Tennessee, Vermont and Wisconsin. Some cities and counties elsewhere have their own bans, and several states regulate it with age limits instead.

Why kratom laws keep changing

Most new laws are aimed at concentrated, gas-station style 7-OH products rather than traditional leaf. That's a good thing for people who want tested, properly labeled products. Our kratom is lab-tested, and you can ask any kava tender about what's in a product.
